LETTER FORMAT FOR HOUSE BILL OF LADING
The format for the letter to be presented together with the house BL must be completed, filling-in all the required information as requested. The letter will only be accepted if is signed and has the Corporate logo of the Freight Forwarder.
The authorization letter will not be accepted if it does not fulfill the above-mentioned requirements.

- In case of natural person: the letter should be signed by the client along with a client.
The authorization letter will not be accepted if it does not fulfill the above-mentioned requirements.

REQUEST FORM TO OCEAN FREIGHT CERTIFICAtES
For the issue of Ocean Freight Certificate the following requirements must be sent together to the generic e-mail below: certificados@mscbolivia.com.bo

For import cargo with final destination Bolivia should manifest the following clause in the Bill of Lading:
"Cargo in transit to Bolivia"
This clause implies that the cargo must enter the Bolivian territory. Using this clause obliges to carry out the following conditions
- The clause “Cargo in transit to Bolivia” should be included in the description of the cargo.
- All cargo must be declared by the Bolivian governmental authorities at Arica´s Port, known as ASP-B (Administración de Servicios Portuarios - Bolivia)
- ASP-B always charge a tax-fee depending on the weight of the cargo.
If the cargo for Bolivia comes without manifesting this clause, automatically the cargo would be stated as “Consumo Chile”. This implies that the cargo must not be interned to Bolivian territory and that the cargo should be marketed in Chile.
Other local requirements
1. Telex Release is accepted.
- For Telex releases or B/L’s claused: ”ORIGINALS TO BE ISSUED AT DESTINATION”, is mandatory to print OBL’s at destination due to customs requirement.
- Telex release is not accepted if consignee is manifested "TO ORDER" or "TO ORDER OF A BANK"
- All release instructions must be sent to Chile's and MSC’s Bolivia generic e-mail addresses: telexrelease@mscchile.cl, docimport@mscbolivia.com.bo. (Exclusive requirement for MSC's worldwide agencies)
2. Print BL in Bolivia
- Cost: USD 35,00
3. Collect Cargo accepted
- Only accepted prior approval from MSC Bolivia Freight Collection Department
- For all cargo in transit to Bolivia, served by ports Arica or Iquique, the BL should show the freight condition as Collect instead of Elsewhere La Paz.
4. To order BL
- Duly endorsed by shipper
5. Express B/L is not accepted
6. Forbbiden goods
Bolivian government issued a Decree banning the import of used cars that are more than 4 years old and used trucks/ used machinery that are more than 6 years old (From December 3, 2008).
Used cars/machinery/trucks that do not fulfill this new regulation, can not enter into Bolivian territory.
Used vehicles that comply with the new Decree have the following restrictions:
- With steering wheels originally on left side, twelve (12) years of antiquity.
- With steering wheels originally on right side, eight (8) years of antiquity.
- With diesel oil engine less than 4000 cc or 4.0 l are forbidden import.
- Scraps of iron or steel and toxic.
- Asbestos, in any way.
- Pornography.
- Industrial toxic wastes.
- Other goods that according to the law in force are forbidden to import.
