Cargo verification through the Republic of Panama
MSC wishes to inform you that the government of Panama enforces a legislation that applies to any cargo in transit or destination for the mentioned country.
Cabinet Decree No. 49 of December 6, 2006 Chapter II – Art. 6, states all cargo may be subject to a non-intrusive VERIFICATION by customs requirement with random inspections when there is an indication or suspicion of violation of Trademark Rights.
Panama Customs decides how and when cargo will be inspected, the costs generated by this are responsibility of the interests of the cargo.
Therefore, we advise to consider that the ports of cargo transshipment for all goods transported from Asia using MSC are: Balboa and Cristobal – Panama, and that due to a determination agreed between the States and Customs as monitoring agents, MSC must comply with these regulations entirely.
