Reminder: Information to be manifested in the B/L for all cargo with destination Canada
MSC wishes to remind clients that due Canadian customs regulations and security policies of this country; all B/L with destination CANADA must have a REAL CONSIGNEE, otherwise consider the following circumstances:
1. If the consignee is a FORWARDER company: you must provide the name of the actual consignee in the country of destination, through the presentation of 2 shipping instructions via INTTRA: one for the master B/L and the second for the House B/L with data from the real consignee. Each shipping instruction must indicate in the comment field if it’s the shipping instruction of the master or the house B/L.
2. If the consignee is a NVOCC (no need to enter a second shipping instruction, you should only enter the information of the Master B/L through INTTRA and include in the field of the Shipping Instruction: “Comment of B/L” the full name of the NVOCC company and the SCAC CODE, for it to be located in the system and both be authorized the transmission of information to U.S. customs.
3. For shipping Personal Effects, according to the Canadian Customs regulations the consignee of the cargo must be a FORWARDER company therefore 2 shipping instructions must be submitted via INTTRA, one for the master B/L and the other for the house B/L or NVOCC with the information explained in the previous section. Please consider that a natural person cannot be expressed as consignee.
